Mix102.3 breakfast radio host Jodie Oddy is now only a little over a month away from the arrival of her fourth child.
It’s been an eventful pregnancy for 43-year-old Jodes who announced she was expecting live on the radio to her shocked mum (and listeners)!
Jodie has three daughters – Taylor, 18, Payton, 7, and Summer, 6 – but husband Greg has told her that he will want her to “go again” if this baby is also a girl.
Some mystery still surrounds Jodie’s plans for work, where her on-air partnership with Mark ‘Soda’ Soderstrom remains Adelaide’s most popular FM breakfast radio show.
She spoke about it this morning for the first time, saying the shortest maternity leave she has had was ten weeks.
“I’m entitled to ten or 12 weeks (off),” Jodie told us during a song.
“I took ten weeks with Payton and 12 with Summer.
“We get a little break over Christmas anyway so I’ll get my 10 or 12 weeks then get a little extended time this time.
“I really want to be a mum for a little while so I’m really looking forward to that.”
So, reading between the lines, it sounds like Jodie won’t re-join Soda on the Adelaide airwaves until the new year.
However, we’re sure her phone will be ringing off the hook as Soda checks in with updates on how she and the new little bub are getting on.
It’s not over for Jodie yet though. With both Summer and Payton she kept working to within days of their births.
So with her due date a little over a month away, we can expect to hear her on-air for about four more weeks.
The next question is who will fill in for Jodie while she’s away? But we’ll save that for another day.
