With South Australia on high alert following the emergence of a cluster of COVID-19 cases in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, attention is squarely focused on case numbers.
On Monday, thousands of South Australians heeded health authorities’ calls to get tested if they experience symptoms, with long queues snaking around Adelaide’s multiple COVID-19 testing facilities.
Today, Premier Steven Marshall confirmed just one new case of COVID-19 overnight, telling Jodie and Soda that he was relieved by this morning’s news.
“Good news is just one positive test that’s come back,” the Premier told Jodie and Soda.
Mr Marshall confirmed that the positive case was a close contact of the original 15 cases in the Parafield cluster.
However, despite fast-tracking the test results of the original cluster’s closest contacts, the Premier said that there were still thousands of tests from yesterday to be processed.
