Adelaide’s suburban shops will be forced to go back to operating under pre-coronavirus restrictions from this weekend.
The city’s shops and supermarkets had been granted exemptions to open for longer hours to facilitate better social distancing.
However, the exemptions will come to an end this Sunday, with the State Government announcing that it will not be granting a further extension.
Extended trading hours were introduced on March 21 and had allowed shops and supermarkets to open 24 hours a day throughout the week and from 9am to 9pm on the weekend.
The move had been supported by health experts to help avoid a second spike of COVID-19 infections as restrictions begin to lift.
