It’s been an Adelaide icon since our parents, your parents and even their parents were going out drinking in town.

The Original Pancake Kitchen has been in the Adelaide CBD – just tucked off Hindley St – since 1965 but now, 54 years later, it is expanding into the suburbs of Adelaide.

The second Original Pancake Kitchen will open in Modbury, in Adelaide’s north-east, on Friday 13 December at 7am.

Specifically, it’s in the Triangle Shopping Centre in Modbury at 954 North East Rd.

It won’t quite be the 24hr establishment that the city venue is known for but it’s certainly doing long hours.

It will be open from 7am until 11pm Monday to Friday, and 7am until midnight on Saturday and Sunday.

The opening was announced last week on the Pancake Kitchen’s Facebook and got a strong response with close to 3,000 comments.
