Today is already Adelaide’s wettest day for more than two years after a heavy downpour swept across the city and South Australia last night.

Adelaide copped the most rain in South Australia last night with 40mm recorded at West Tce.

Up At Mt Lofty, a staggering 65mm had fallen by 9.45am today.

It is Adelaide’s wettest day in more than two years, as well as the wettest June day in six years.

Rain is expected to ease to showers later this afternoon but it won’t dry out for some days, with the Bureau of Meteorology as good as guaranteeing rain until at least Saturday when the chance of rain is estimated at 30 per cent.
