We’re hearing the bushfire relief effort doesn’t need any more donations for clothes or goods – but there is still a way you can give something that will help.

Knitters, sewers and crocheters around the country are putting their skills to good use to make pouches, nests and mittens for injured wildlife.

Facebook groups like Rescue Craft Co (40,000 members) and Animal Rescue Craft Guild (15,000 members) are bringing together crafters – providing them with templates, guides, patterns and vital information.

And it’s not just in Australia! Crafters in the UK have started a Facebook group with 11,000 members called ‘UK Crafters For Australia’s Animal Rescue Effort’.
