A popular fitness wristband sold at Target stores throughout Australia is being recalled over fears that the defective product could burn people’s skin.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Target made the decision yesterday to ensure all of the defective Target Activity and Sleep Trackers were pulled from their shelves. The faulty product was sold at the stores between July last year until this month.
It’s believed that the fitness wristbands had insufficient insulation, leaving users at risk of being burned.
“Regular use may expose the wearer to a risk of skin irritation (and) burn,” said Target.
Sarah Agar from Choice said that anyone using one of the recalled wristbands should stop doing so immediately and return the product to a Target or Target Country store.
“This is another example of why we need to make it illegal to sell unsafe products,” she said.
