Up to 100 high school students marched out of class yesterday to protest the “toxic sexist behaviour” found at their school.

This morning Erin & Soda spoke to Martha, one of the organisers of the walk-out to discuss why they held this protest and what changes they would like to see.

Martha, who is currently in Year 12, explained that “we were protesting the toxic culture that is very prevalent in our school and it’s normalised things like violence and inappropriate behaviour and misogyny.”

She also highlighted that students aren’t provided with the education to “recognise that what’s going on is wrong.”
