Woolworths have announced a new range of ‘drought relief’ milk will appear in stores from mid-October.

The milk will have a 10c levy, with that money forwarded to dairy farmers in drought affected areas.

Until then all 3L bottles of their milk will be raised to $3.30 to ensure that some money and relief is given to the farmers ASAP.

The news comes after public outcry on the current state of affairs and growing feedback that people are willing to pay more for milk, if the money goes directly back to the farmers.

No word on whether Coles will follow suit or employ a different method to raise money for the farmers and garner public support.
