Powerhouse family favourites, Jay Laga’aia and Paulini, join St John Ambulance Carols by Candlelight 2025 lineup!

Families can look forward to a night of festive magic as St John Ambulance Carols by Candlelight announces two of Australia’s most loved performers – Jay Laga’aia and Paulini – among this year’s artists.

Returning to Elder Park/Tarntanya Wama on Saturday 13 December 2025, Carols will once again bring Christmas cheer, community spirit and show-stopping performances to one of Adelaide’s most cherished traditions.

Together, Jay and Paulini embody the joy, heart and musical talent that define the Carols spirit. Jay, a much-loved entertainer and storyteller who has become synonymous with Christmas in Adelaide, and Paulini, the powerhouse vocalist whose extraordinary range and warmth have made her one of the nation’s most spectacular singers. Jay Laga’aia is a celebrated New Zealand–Australian actor and singer, known internationally for his role as Captain Typho in Star Wars and at home for his long-running work on Play School. A familiar and much-loved face at Carols,
Jay returns to Adelaide with his trademark warmth, humour and sing-along energy that families have come to adore.

Paulini rose to fame on the first season of Australian Idol, capturing the nation’s hearts with her angelic, five-octave range. Her debut album One Determined Heart and hit single Angel Eyes both topped the ARIA charts, earning platinum success. Since then, she has starred in major stage productions including The Bodyguard, Saturday Night Fever, and Hair: The Musical, and most recently appeared as the Teen Angel in Grease the Musical.

Jay Laga’aia said: “Carols is my favourite time of year, when music brings families together under the stars. I can’t wait to be back in Adelaide sharing that magic once again.”
Paulini said: “There’s something so special about performing carols, it’s pure joy and connection. I can’t wait to join Jay and the incredible Adelaide audience to celebrate the season in song.”
With more artists still to be announced, Carols will once again be hosted by 7NEWS Adelaide personalities Rosanna Mangiarelli, Will Goodings and Amelia Mulcahy for a national television broadcast that shines a spotlight on South Australia.

This year, St John Ambulance Carols by Candlelight will be broadcast nationally on Channel 7, via 7Two and 7Plus on Sunday 14 December 2025, as well as on Christmas Day.
